The Effect of English Club towards Students' Speaking Ability (A Case Study at English Education Study Program at University of Muhammadiyah Luwuk). Undergraduate Thesis. English Education Study Department, Faculty of Teacher Training Education, Muhammadiyah Luwuk University. Supervised by Mukmin and Hardianti. English Club is an activity carried out by English language education student associations that aims to improve students' skills and confidence in speaking English. This research aims to find out about the application and the effect of English club to improve students' speaking ability at English Education Study Program at University of Muhammadiyah Luwuk. This research used qualitative approach as the method. The subjects of this study were 7 students who were active participants in the English club. This research purposes to find out the application of English club and to emphasized the effect of English club to improve students' speaking abilities. In the context of analyzing the data, the researcher did an observation and interview, which in observing the researcher acted as a partial observer to see closely about how the application of the English club and the interaction of the members. As a result of this research, the researcher found that in the application of the English club there were several activities that could help students develop their speaking skills, some students claimed to be able to develop their speaking skills by consistently attending and speaking in the forum.
