The Effect of Short Stories Towards Students' Reading Comprehension at SIMPN 4 Bualemo. Skripsi. English Education Department, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah Luwuk University. Under the supervision of Desriani Nggolaon, S.Pd.,M.Pd. The objective of this research is to find out the effect of short stories towards students' reading comprehension in SMPN 4 Bualemo grade VII. This researcher only took one class consisting 28 students. The main instrument is its own researcher. While the supporting instruments used is interview guidelines, observations and documentation. In this study the researcher uses three aspects to collect data. This research can be concluded category of students into three parts: the first is positive response as one of learning materials can motivated to develop the students creativity and teaching are effectively, the second is content the colors is clearly and easy, and the third is problem solving the teacher directed to find meaning in source. The result shows the effect of short stories as a media used by the teacher in teaching the students' in SMPN 4 Bualemo was really help the students in developing their reading comprehension.
