Investigating Students' Error of Using Apostrophe in Writing at SMA Neger 3 Luwuk. A Skripsi, English Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. University of Muhammadiyah Luwuk. Supervisor Yusniati N. Sabata S.S., M.Hum and Co. Supervisor Siti Marhana Rulu, S.Pd.I.M.Pd. This research aims to identify and describe kinds of apostrophe errors students make using apostrophe in writing and find out what are the factor that influence students in writing using apostrophe. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative research. In this research use two instruments to obtain data, namely: worksheet and interview. The researcher subjects were students of eleventh grade since three at SMA Negeri 3 Luwuk. Based on the results of the research, it was found that the kinds of students apostrophe errors in writing are: contraction, possessive noun, unusual plural form, and there are two factor that influence students' errors in writing using apostrophe namely: carelessness and translation. The description of worksheet and interview, the researcher concluded that there were three kinds of apostrophe errors used by the students in writing, and two factors that influenced students' errors in writing using apostrophe.
