Effexation On Students' Writing
Affixation on Students' Writing. Undergraduate Thesis. English Education Study Program, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Muhammadiyah University of Luwuk. Supervised by ST. Marhana Rullu and Nurhaida Lakuana This study aims to find out what kind of affixations students use in their writing. This study used a qualitative approach as a research method. The subjects of this study were 30 students in class XI at SMAS GKLB Luwuk. To analyze the data, the researcher carried out documentation or took written results from students. The results of this research indicate that affixes are derivational and inflectional. The research's findings show that there are 46 different kinds of affixations, including derivational and inflectional affixes. Prefixes and suffixes are the two kinds of derivational affixation. Derived affixes in students' writing text are un-(1), a- (3), out- (1), inter- (3), under- (2), re- (2), in- (1), im- (1), be- (3), extra-(1), sub- (1), en- (1), tele- (1) as prefixes, and the suffixes are -y (4), -ive (2), - age (1), -ness (1), -ate (1), -able (2), -al (3), -ous (3), -ful (3), -where (2), -ment (3), -sion (1), -tion (4), -ance (3), -ence (1), -wise (1), -ation (1), -ic (2), -ly (15),-ist (2), -or (1), -er (5), -dom (1), -ship (1), -ery (1), -ent (1). While the inflectional affixes are -s/es/ies (50), - 's (7), -ing (50), -ed (62), -s {3rd singular person} (2), and -er (1). The roots of the words in the students' writing text that have been classified into parts of speech are 97 (noun), 31 (adjective), 110 (verb), and 25 (adverb).
