Factors Influencing Students' Lack of Self-Confidence in Speaking. Undergraduate Thesis. English Education Study Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Muhammadiyah Luwuk University. Supervised by Abdul Rabbi Arrasul and Nurhaida Lakuana. This study aims to find out the factors influencing students' lack of self-confidence in speaking. This study uses a qualitative approach as a research method. The subjects of this research were 13 students in the second semester of English Education Study Program at University of Muhammadiyah Luwuk who lack confidence in speaking. This study is based on theory from Nety et al., (2020) to find out what are the factors influencing students lack of self-confidence. To analyze the data, the researcher conducted observations and interviews. As a result of this research, the researcher found that there are internal and external factors that influence students' lack of self-confidence in speaking. Internal factors that influence students self-confidence in speaking are anxiety, fear of making mistakes, shyness, and lack of vocabulary. External factors that influence students' lack of self-confidence in speaking are speaking in front of people, difficult to understand the lesson, lecturer's or teacher's personality and attitude, and lack of preparation. The conclusion of this research indicates that there were 4 factors influencing students lack of self-confidence that support the theory of Nety et al., (2020) and 4 factors influencing students' lack of self-confidence which were findings and enriching the theory used.
