EFL Students perception toward English text. Skipsi. English Education Department in Muhammadiyah University of Luwuk. English Education Department, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah University of Luwuk. Supervisor. ST. Marhana Rullu, S.Pd.I,M.Pd This research aims to know students percetion toward understanding English text. This research is a descriptive research with qualitative approach. Informants in this research are students of English Education Department at Muhammadiyah University of Luwuk. Data collection techniques used are interview and documentation. Steps in analyzing data are using data collection techniques, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Validity cheeks with source and method triangulation. The results of this research indicate that students of English Education Department understand English text in general and the type of text, however, the students still have difficulties in understanding English text, namely: 1) lack of vocabulary, 2) not understand grammar, 3) lack of desire understand English text, 4) difficult in translating English to Indonesia, and 5) lack of motivation.
