"The Effectiveness of Vocabulary Notebook on Students' Vocabulary Mastery" Skripsi. English Education Study Program, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Muhammadiyah Luwuk University, under the supervision of Desriani Nggolaon, S.Pd.M.Pd. The objective of the research is to find out wether the vocabulary notebook is effective in increasing students' vocabulary mastery. The method used to conduct the research was quasi-experiment. The populations were 45 students of eight grade at SMPN 2 Bulagi. The sample was chosen by total sampling, it consisted of two classes: 24 students for experimental class (VIII A) and 21 students for control class (VIII B). The research was implemented for eight meeting. In the beginning, the researcher gave the pre-test for both of classes. Then, the experimental class was treated by vocabulary notebook during six meetings treatment period while the control class was treated by the conventional way without vocabulary notebook. After all treatments had been implemented, the researcher gave the post-test for both of classes that consisted of twenty five multiple-choice questions which was same amount with the pre-test. The result showed the average scores resulted from vocabulary tests showed more significant increase after the vocabulary notebook was being implemented in the experimental class (pretest: 58.6 and post-test: 81.3) than the control class (pre-test. 56.0 and post-test: 61.1). In addition the value of t-test was 14.84745 and the value of t-table was 2.01669 by using the degree significance 5% (0.05). It means that t-test is higher than t-table (14.84745>2.01669) so that the Ha (Alternative Hypothesis) was accepted and HO (Null Hypothesis was rejected. Hence, it can be concluded that vocabulary notebook has a significant effectiveness in increasing students' vocabulary mastery.
