The Implementation of Partner Reading Strategy in Learning English at MAN 2 Banggai. The aim of this study is to find the teacher's implementation of partner reading strategy in learning English and the students response toward the implementation of partner reading strategy in learning English at MAN 2 Banggai. In this study the researcher used a qualitative method. The subjects of this study were the English teacher and 15 (fifteen) students in the class XI. The data from this study were taken through observation checklist and interview. The results of observation shows that the teacher's implementation of partner reading strategy were following the steps: Explaining about partner reading strategy to students, Teaching students an error-correction when supporting each other, modeling the procedure to ensure that students understand how to use the strategy and pairing students with the same or different abilities. This result supported and improved the theory from Topping (2014) about the implementation of using partner reading strategy. In addition, other several things regarding the teacher's implementation of partner reading strategy were found outside the theory used by researcher, including the teacher asks the students to read paragraph one by one, asks the students to read aloud simultaneously, the teacher gives feedback and praise, monitor the students while they are working in group and the teacher asks students to show a signal to their partner if they are having difficulties. Then, the results of interview shows that the students gave positive response toward the implementation of partner reading strategy. It is support the theory from Gerdes (2000) in both academically and socially. And another finding from implementing of partner reading strategy is that students become more enthusiastic and happy in learning by using the partner reading strategy. In conclusion, the implementation of partner reading strategy can be helpful for the teachers and students' in learning process.
