Balantak Intonation Interference in Reading Aloud Activity. Undergraduate thesis, English Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Muhammadiyah Luwuk. Supervisor: Yuliana Mangendre and Co-Supervisor: Yusniati N. Sabata. This research aims to identify the intonation interference experienced by Balantak students when reading aloud. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method. The subjects of this study are 15 students from SMPN 1 Balantak. The purpose of this research is to identify the intonation interference experienced by Balantak students when reading aloud. To analyze the data, the researcher conducted observations based on voice recordings of the students during reading. The findings revealed that students had difficulties using rising and falling intonation when reading texts. Based on these observations, the researcher concluded that the students still face challenges with intonation during reading aloud activities. Each student exhibited different intonation patterns, which were influenced by the Balantak dialect, characterized by a slightly melodious tone.
