Social Media On English Language Learning: Exploring Educational Impact And Challengs . Undergraduate Thesis. English Education Study Department, Faculty of Teacher Training Education, Muhammadiyah Luwuk University. Supervised by Abdul Rabbi Arrasul and Yuliana Mangendre. This Research aims to find out the positive and negative impact of social media on English language learning based on the students of English education study program at Muhammadiyah University of Luwuk. This research used qualitative approach as the method. The participants taking part in this research are 21 students from semesters 2,4,6 in English educations study program at Muhamadiyah University of Luwuk. Accordingly, the Researcher found that social media has positive impact on English language learning such as can enhance their English language skills, interesting as an English learning tool, very helpful for students to get more information about learning English, attractive as a means for learning English, influence students' writing ability and as a place for learning that easier to understand, And also the researcher found that Being distracted by other things when learning English on social media is the reason why social media has a negative impact, the researcher found that social media has negative impact on student writing ability and it is also the challenge on learning English.
