The Effectiveness Of Picture Series In Teaching Writing
The Effective Picture Series in Teaching Writing in English Language Learning in Grade Ten of SMKS Surya Luwuk. undergraduate, English Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah University of Luwuk. Under the guidance of Mukmin and Desriani Nggolaon. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the use of picture series is effective in teaching writing or not. The research conducted a study on tenth grade students of SMKS Surya Luwuk in the 2024 academic year. The research design was an free experimental design with a quantitative approach. Pre-test, treatment, and post-test procedures were used in this pre-experimental study. Tests (pre-test and post-test) with writing exercises related to picture series were the instruments used in this study. Participants in this study were students of SMKS Surya Luwuk. 9 students from class X became the research sample. The findings showed that the average pre-test score was 64, and the average post-test score was 88. The average score on the post-test was higher than on the pre-test. The results showed that the difference between t counted of 10,43, and t table of 1.860 was significant at the 5% level. These results are evidence that thef null hypothesis (HO) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Thus, the use of picture series significantly improves the writing ability of class X students of SMKS Surya Luwuk.
