The purpose of this research is to know what types of errors in pronunciation made by students in the second grade at MAN 1 Banggai and to find out the cause of error made by students in the second grade at MAN 1 Banggai. The method of this research is qualitative. This research used two instruments, the first instrument is a conversation, and the second instrument is an interview. This research used the data analysis technique by Miles and Huberman cited in Rullu stated that the analysis data technique of qualitative study contains three parts, those are data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The research subject is students in the second grade at MAN 1 Banggai. The result of the conversation found two types of error. Those are pre-systematic and systematic. The result of the interview found three causes of error. Those are interlingual transfer, intralingual transfer, and communication strategy. The highest error is pre-systematic with 247 errors. The most cause of error that happened in students in the second grade at MAN 1 Banggai is intralingual transfer.
