Improving Pronunciation Ability by Using English Songs for Eighth Graders at SMPN 10 Toili. Skripsi, English Language Education Study Program, English Education Faculty Program. Muhammadiyah University of Luwuk. With supervisor Desriani Nggolaon S.Pd., M.Pd and Mukmin S.Pd., M.Pd as co-supervisor This study aims to determine whether using English songs can improve English pronunciation skills, especially in class VIII A at SMPN 10 Toil or not. This research is experimental research, that is Quasi experimental. This research was carried out in two classes with 48 students which is divided into class VIII A consist of 25 students as the experimental class, while class VIII B consist of 23 students as the control class. This research use test as the instrument they are pre-test and post-test. After calculated the results of pre-test was 47,6 in experimental class and 45,6 in control class.
Meanwhile, the results of post-test was 67,6 in experimental class and 56,5 in control class. From the results of this research, it shows that t-counted is higher than t-table. That is, the t-count is 5.03 while the t-table is only 1.679 with a significance level of 0.05 with a degree of freedom of 46. This hypothesis is accepted, which means that using English song is effective in improving the pronunciation mastery of class VIlI A students at SMPN 10 Toili.
