Applying Partner Reading Strategy to Improve Students' Reading Achievement at SMA N 1 Luwuk. Undergraduated thesis. English Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah Luwuk University. Supervisor Mrs. Mukmin and Mrs. Hardianti. The purpose of this research is to find out the improvement of students' reading achievement in eleventh grade at SMA N 1 Luwuk using Partner Reading Strategy. This research used a quasi-experimental design. It was consisted of two classes. The population of this study was all the students of class XI MIPA SMA N 1 Luwuk with consists 288 students, while the sample of this research took students from class XI MIPA 3 to be experimental class and XI MIPA 1 as the control class. The research used test as an instrument to get the data which was given at pre-test and post-test. Based on the research findings and discussion in the previous chapter, it can be concluded that is using Partner Reading Strategy can improve students reading achievement at SMA N 1 Luwuk. It is proved by the students score in post-test is higher than pre-test. Where the pre-test score was 79.3 and the post-test score was 94.5. Then the result of t-count is 4.472 and the result of t-table was 1.666 (t-count > t-table) It means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. In other words, partner reading is improving students reading achievement.
