Marhana Rullu, S.Pd.I., M.Pd. The research objective is to find out whether the students writing achievement before and after taught using picture series or not. Research method used in this research was quantitive method. The research desain was experimental design with quantitative approach by using quasi-experimental design with nonrandomized control group, pretest - posttest design. The population of this research is the whole of eleven grade at SMAN 1 Bungku Utara that consist of 48 students, the sample are XI IPA 1 that consinting 24 students as experimental class and XI IPA 2 class that consinting 24 students as control class. The result of t-counted is 4.03 while the degree of freedom is 45. The result showed that the mean score of pre-test was 74.79, while the mean score of post-test was 78.83. By applying the degree of significance 5% = 0.05, it is found that the t-table is 2.01. It means that, there was a significant improvement in students' writing skill through pictures. It means that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected.
