The Correlation Between Social Media Usage and Students' English Vocabulary of English Education Study Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Luwuk. Thesis, English Education Study Program, Faculty of the Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Muhammadiyah Luwuk. Supervised by ST. Marhana Rullu and Hardianti. The study aims to find out the correlation beiween social media sage and students' English vocabulary of English education study program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Luwak. The approach used in this study is quantitative with a correlational design involving 2 instruments such as vocabulary tests and questionnaires. The subjects in this study were 48 th " semester students of English education study program. The resulls of the research analysis show that there is a significant relationship between social media usage and students' English vocabulary especially such as verb, adjective, and phrasal verb. The result of this study has correlation coefficient value of 0.932 with a significance level of 0.000 which means that the more often students use utilize social media such as Instagram, TikTok, and Youtube with learning purposes, the more their English vocabulary increases. And the strenght of the correlation is very stronger with the direction of the correlation is still positive. This results is in line with Bandura's social learning theory and Krashen's input theory which emphasise the importance of observation and social interaction in learning and the language can be learned through challenging but still comprehensible learning materials. This study suggests that social media can be used as a medium to enhance language learning by helping students acquire vocabulary-such as verbs, adjectives, and phrasal verbs-while integrating it into ICT-based programs to develop their digital literacy.
