The Effectiveness of Song in Improving Students Listing Skill at SMP Muhammadiyah Luwuk. English Education study program, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Muhammadiyah University of Luwuk. Supervisor Abdul Rabbi Arrasul, S.Pd. M.Pd and Co. Supervisor Desriani Nggolaon, S.Pd.,M.Pd This research aims to improve listening skill of eight grade students at SMP Muhammadiyah Luwuk through song. The subject of this research were VIlI as population and sample because just only one class. This research used Pre Experimental Design consisted of eight meetings. Six meetings were held to conduct the teaching and learning process by using song (treatment), and two meetings was held to evaluate the individual learning achievement of the students (pre-test and post-test). The researcher used test as the instrument to get the data which was given at the pre-test and post-test. The main score of the pre-test was 37.33 and the main score of the post-test was 60.67. With degree of freedom 14 and the level of significant 0.05. And the last calculation shows that t-counted 6.714 is highter then t-table 1.761. It means Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. It indicates that song can improve the students listening skill.
