An Analysis of students' difficulties in using simple prepositions in semester 2 of the English Language Education Study Program at Muhammadiyah University of Luwuk. Thesis. This study aims to determine the types of preposition errors made by students and also to find out some factors that cause students' difficulties in using Prepositions in semester 2 students of the English Language Education Study Program at Muhammadiyah Luwuk University. This research uses a qualitative approach as a research method. The subjects of this study were 15 students who were 2nd semester students from the English Language Education Study Program at Muhammadiyah Luwuk University. In order to analyze the data, researchers conduct tests and interviews. As a result of this study, researchers found that students made several types of mistakes such as selection, omission, and insertion of prepositions. The factor that influences students having difficulties is intralingual disorder is the difference between English grammar and Indonesian and the student's lack of knowledge of English grammar makes students also difficult in using prepositions. Lack of knowledge about prepositions due to lack of practice and learning to use prepositions and then students also rely on tools (Google translate) to translate a sentence without really understanding the prepositional pattern. And the last factor is the difficulty of memorizing about prepositions. In conclusion of this study supports and enriches the theory that has been put forward.
